He has a heavy, somewhat husky voice when he speaks. Marlen is a high priest in the Temple and also the uncle of Patausche. He was skinny and at the end of middle age and his hair was peppered with white. He had an expression like that of Patausche's but slightly more calm and less stern. Not only was he a priest, but he also held a seat in the Temple's sacred council meetings. As such, he is basically at the top of the Temple's hierarchy.
