Ornithol is a character of the day who appeared in A Relay in the Sky!. Ornithol lives in a valley that is the site of the Pokémon Sky Relay. He is an avid fan of the competition, watching it from the stands each year, but has never been able to compete as he has never caught three Pokémon eligible to enter. Nevertheless, he had a dream to win once, and as such, he decided to support Trainers he thought were promising enough. Ornithol encountered Ash and his friends when they stumbled across the Pokémon Sky Relay and introduced himself. He inspired Ash to enter the competition and took him and his friends to his house, where he offered Ash insight and tips to conquer the relay obstacles. The next day, he watched Ash compete and win second place behind defending champion Orson. Even though Ash was unable to win, Ornithol was grateful for the incredible performance. (Source: Bulbapedia)
