At the Personality Plant, robots are being built and slowly outfitted with the artificial memories of real people. Suzu is one such robot, being made to replace the young boy a family has lost. Hotori is a movie that picks you up. slaps you in the face, tells you not to cry and then just leaves you there to snivel like a baby, all in the span of about half an hour. I have to say that I feel bad fo the producers, unless they were going for a minimalistic film this just feels to me like a nice big plot…
